OSHAWA MINOR FASTBALL GOES TO THE DOGS…
The Oshawa Minor Fastball organization held a contest to change the team name from Oshawa Stingers.
We decided to open the contest to members of the organization when last season the Mite team traveled to Stratford
for their Silver medal winning Provincials and 6 of the 8 teams present were Stingers.
Oshawa Minor Fastball has represented our region for Rep Softball for almost 30 years with the first teams’
named the ‘Shamrocks’.
The ‘Stinger’ name came to be in the 1990’s and the winning logo name starting the 2007 season is
‘Oshawa Bulldogs’
Pictured is the President of Oshawa Minor Fastball, Jim Henry, presenting the $100 cheque to winner,
Erin Roseborough, whose brother, Julian Phillips, plays for the Peewee boys. Holding the winning logo
is Brandon Parks, who is our ‘veteran’ Stinger being with the organization for 7 seasons and next to
him is Carter Hayes, who is the newest ‘Bulldog’ pup.
